In Memory of Kristin Kay Smith, 10/1/1986 – 12/29/2000

A little sister!
What excitement!
I wanted a sister for a long time
She wasn’t going to be a baby
She was four years old

We picked her up to spend some time together
She ran to me and hugged me
She looked like a little ragamuffin
Old clothes, stringy hair
But, the most beautiful blue eyes I’d ever seen

She has been my foster sister for two years now
We get along just like real sisters
We play, we argue
We are going to adopt her soon
And then we will be real sisters
