Dear Kristin,

Guess what! We have a new cousin named Daniel Richard. I wish you were there with me today so you could hold him. He’s cute, he has no teeth, his hair is fuzzy. He grabs onto fingers really tight.

Love,
Amber

new baby (Original poster: Kristin’s sister Cheyenne)Dear Kristin,We just got back from seeing the new baby. I got to hold him twice. Mom took a picture of me holding Daniel. He was a little fussy when I was holding him. His hair is fluffy and sort of reddish. He had an alarm hooked to his ankle that would go off if anyone tried to go out the door with him. Everyone thought that he is really cute. There were a lot of people there to see him. I miss you. I love you.Love, Cheyenne

God makes no mistakes (Original poster: Shelly L.)I don’t think God causes bad things to happen to us, but He allows certain things to take place according to His plan. A lady I know recently said something like “it’s nice to know that nothing gets to me without first passing through God.” When I apply that statement to this situation we are going through, I can’t help but draw comfort from it. Right now, we feel deep sorrow and devastating loss and it would be tempting to become bitter and angry at God. But, as you have again reminded me, God has a plan and He makes no mistakes. We just have to try to see things through His eyes. What a thrill it would be to know that God somehow used Kristin’s tragic death to draw another person to a personal relationship with his son, Jesus – a relationship that promises eternal life in heaven. What a powerful legacy that would be! Kristin certainly touched many lives in her 14 years on this earth, and I pray that lives will continue to be touched as she resides in her heavenly home. Thanks, dad, to you and mom for teaching us kids that there is more to life than what exists on this earth. I can not imagine dealing with the death of a loved one without the promise that we will once again be reunited. I don’t know how individuals and families who do not share this faith in God cope with such a loss!
